Briefing & Inputs

Usually surfing is about palm trees, bikini girls, sunny landscapes, etc. But the main input that I got was about to put some rock. ‘We are not about a common things of this sport, we are badass’. Name was already taken. So I've tried to represent the name by form of the each letter in logo, make it sharp and peaky.

By using logo shapes and geometry as a core, I’ve created couple of letter titles to design a basic website navigation, and then got the idea to create a unique letters to use it as a font.

Images & colours

I’ve made some visual research about surfboards photo and how people make it. And made some guides for positioning our boards in a frame. The point was to give more focus on shapes and curves.

Surfing is about a colours too. Water, sand, sky, clouds, sunshines and sunrises. We made unique colour for each shape of board. Each colour matches the colour of water you gonna surf.

Outcome

Now ScissorsSurfboards have their unique style about a logo, font, and visual communication. Which can be used to present existing products and create a new. Special thanks to Sasha Naumenko and Valentin Emelianov for being envolved and nice.
